Mirror Sketching

Continuing with our theme of Portraits, we did some more work on our faces. To better understand the dimensions of a face, we needed to take a closer look at our own. Using mirrors and a whiteboard marker (and closing one eye), we carefully traced around the outline of the face, eyes, nose, lips and hair.

For those of you who have never tried it, this is not an easy task. The slightest movement can mess everything up. The good news was that all we had to do was wipe out the whiteboard marker and try again. After about 4 or 5 tries each, we started to see some interesting results:
